1. Introduction

Welcome to Recipe For Later. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Recipe For Later mobile application ("App"), including any content, functionality, and services offered through the App.

Please read these Terms carefully before using our App. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

Recipe For Later is a recipe-saving and guided-cooking application that allows users to import public recipe content from the web (including social networks), organize and edit steps, use voice-guided cooking instructions, create smart shopping lists, and sync preferences to improve personalization.

Throughout these Terms, we use certain terms with specific meanings:

"You," "your" refers to the individual accessing or using the App.

3. User Accounts and Registration

3.1 Account Creation

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

Not share your account credentials with any third party
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time through the App settings.

4. License and App Usage

4.1 License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App for your personal, non-commercial use on compatible mobile devices that you own or control.

4.2 Restrictions

You agree not to:

Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
Remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices from the App
Use the App in any manner that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair the App
Use any robot, spider, or other automated device to access the App

4.3 Updates

We may from time to time develop patches, bug fixes, updates, or other modifications to improve the performance of the App. These may be automatically installed without additional notice. You consent to this automatic updating.

5. User-Generated Content

5.1 Ownership of User Content

You retain all rights to any User Content you create, modify, or add within the App, such as recipe modifications, notes, and custom shopping lists.

5.2 License to User Content

By creating, posting, or sharing User Content in the App, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, copy, modify, and display your User Content solely for the purposes of operating, developing, and improving the App.

5.3 Prohibited Content

You agree not to create, upload, or share any User Content that:

Infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other intellectual property rights
Violates any law or regulation
Is defamatory, obscene, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
Contains viruses, malware, or other harmful code

5.4 Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or that we find objectionable for any reason, without prior notice.

6. Imported Content and Copyright

6.1 Personal Use Only

The Recipe For Later App is designed for importing and organizing recipe content for your personal use only. You acknowledge and agree that:

Imported Content is for your personal, non-commercial use only
You will not redistribute, share, or publish Imported Content outside the App
You are responsible for ensuring your use of Imported Content complies with applicable copyright laws

6.2 No Ownership Claims

We do not claim ownership of third-party content that you import into the App. All rights to Imported Content remain with the original content owners.

6.3 DMCA Compliance

We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect our users to do the same. We will respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with applicable law.

If you believe that your content has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please provide us with the following information:

A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized representative
Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing
Your contact information (address, telephone number, and email)
A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner

We have a policy of terminating the accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers.

7. AI Processing and Voice Features

7.1 AI-Powered Recipe Processing

The App uses artificial intelligence to paraphrase and clarify recipe steps. You acknowledge and agree that:

AI processing is intended to improve clarity and usability only
AI processing may alter the wording but aims to preserve the meaning of recipe steps
Both original and processed versions of recipes are stored in your account
You can choose which version to display

7.2 Voice-Guided Cooking Instructions

The App provides voice-guided cooking instructions to assist you during cooking. You acknowledge and agree that:

Voice guidance is provided "as is" without warranty of accuracy
Voice commands may not work perfectly in all environments
Voice data is processed according to our Privacy Policy
You can disable voice features at any time through the App settings

8. Third-Party Services and Links

The App may integrate with third-party services, such as Google Login or social media platforms. Your use of such third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content or practices of these third-party services.

If you provide us with any feedback or suggestions regarding the App, you grant us an unlimited, irrevocable, perpetual, sublicensable, transferable, royalty-free license to use such feedback for any purpose without compensation to you.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10.2 No Guarantees

We do not guarantee that:

The App will meet your specific requirements
The App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
The results from using the App will be accurate or reliable
Any errors in the App will be corrected

10.3 Recipe Content Disclaimer

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or quality of any recipes or cooking instructions in the App, whether imported or AI-processed. You acknowledge that:

Cooking involves inherent risks
You are responsible for ensuring food safety
You should exercise caution regarding potential allergens
You should use your judgment when following cooking instructions

11. Limitation of Liability

11.1 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE, OUR AFFILIATES, OR OUR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE APP.

11.2 Cap on Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP, WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP, OR IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID FOR THE APP, $50.00 USD.

11.3 Exclusions

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation or exclusion of liability for certain types of damages. Therefore, some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless us, our affiliates, licensors, and service providers, and our and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, suppliers, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:

Your use of the App
Your User Content
Your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any intellectual property right or privacy right

13. Termination

13.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your use of the App at any time by uninstalling the App from your device and deleting your account.

13.2 Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms.

13.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

Your right to use the App will immediately cease
You must cease all use of the App and delete all copies
We may delete your account and all associated data
Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

14.2 Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association's rules. The arbitration shall be conducted in English and shall take place in San Francisco, California.

14.3 Class Action Waiver

YOU AND WE AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR OUR INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.

14.4 Time Limitation

You agree that any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the App must be filed within one (1) year after such claim arose; otherwise, the claim is permanently barred.

15. International Use

15.1 Regional Availability

The App is designed for use in regions where it is officially available. You are responsible for complying with all local laws and regulations if you use the App outside of these regions.

15.2 Export Control

You agree to comply with all applicable export and re-export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations maintained by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

16. App Store Additional Terms

16.1 Apple App Store Terms

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge and agree that:

These Terms are between you and us, not with Apple
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for the App
In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App
Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims related to the App
Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms

16.2 Google Play Store Terms

If you downloaded the App from the Google Play Store, you acknowledge and agree that:

These Terms are between you and us, not with Google
Google has no obligation to provide support or maintenance services for the App
Google is not responsible for addressing any claims related to the App

17. Modifications to the App

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part thereof at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the App.

We do not guarantee that the App will be compatible with all devices or operating systems. You are responsible for ensuring your device meets the minimum requirements for using the App.

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the App and supersede all prior and contemporaneous written or oral agreements.

18.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. The waiver of any such right or provision will be effective only if in writing and signed by an authorized representative.

18.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without your consent.

18.5 Force Majeure

We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, pandemic, war, terrorism, riots, civil unrest, government action, labor disputes, or internet service disruptions.

Shopping lists are for your convenience and may require manual adjustments

20.2 Recipe Organization

The App allows you to organize and categorize recipes. You acknowledge that:

Organization features are provided for convenience only
We do not guarantee the preservation of your organizational structure in all circumstances
You should regularly back up important recipe collections

20.3 Social Network Import

When importing content from social networks, you agree to:

Comply with the terms of service of those social networks
Import content only for your personal use
Not use the App to circumvent any restrictions imposed by those social networks

20.4 Personalization Features
